Filming in Kenya
Immigration & Importing Requirements

Immigration

Special passes (work permits) are provided to each foreign crew member at $30 dollars per person for three months. Applications must be made through a filming agent.
There are no limits on the number of foreign crew, and foreign crews are not subject to any local taxation. Local crews continue to offer competitive prices in a highly de-regulated economy. They are generally subject to only a 5% withholding tax, which the production company deducts at source.

ANY VISITORS TO KENYA REQUIRE A VISA, THE VISA APPLICATION PROCESS AND CHARGES CAN BE FOUND HERE

Importing Equipment:

A non-refundable customs charge of 1% or 30,000 Ksh (410 USD) , whichever is less, is levied on each shipment.
The shipment must be handled by a Kenya customs-recognised shipping agent who will charge accordingly(a shipping agent can be found through your filming agent).
