KFC is currently actively engaging stakeholders with the aim of achieving harmonious working relations and seeking ways of promoting the film industry. A meeting with key stakeholders from the 3 associations KFTPA, KNFA and Third Force Association was held to discuss a vibrant way forward for the industry.
Key issues that arose from this meeting:
- Improved communication between KFC and stakeholders so that the industry is aware of what projects are being undertaken by KFC and more ideas shared between industry and KFC.
- Possibility of crating an umbrella organization with representation from all associations which seeks ways to develop the industry. The idea being one that is based on the modalities of a trust fund.
- How can KFC lobby government more actively to push the needs and concerns of the industry
- Brief reports on how the current skirmishes in the country has affected the industry
SINEMA PAMOJA PROJECT
As a result of the initial stakeholders meeting, follow up meetings have been held which saw the birth of “SINEMA PAMOJA PROJECT”; a project geared at bringing together various stakeholders to shoot a documentary feature on peace. The production will be in aid of fostering the peace message in the country.
Currently, the associations have embarked on identifying volunteers to direct the project. Participants in the project have kindly offered to donate services, crew, and equipment towards the initiative.
