CAPETOWN WINELAND FILM FESTIVAL

Imagine yourself in South Africa’s world famous vacation spot! Stellenbosch Wine Valley, just a 45 minute drive from Cape Town, where locals and visitors alike converge during the wine country's biggest celebration of world cinema.

You are sitting under the stars with film stars in an open air theatre venue, sipping good wine, savoring seasonal South African cuisine, and socializing with new and old friends.

Picture Five screening venues where one has a choice of enjoying the best of African and International films, The Cape Winelands Film Festival will take place on the 20th March 2009 until 25th March 2009 aims to present a forum for local and international film makers, producers, commissioning editors and broadcasters to develop new solutions for the issues facing our film industry, with a focus on generating revenue and attracting new business.

The Kenyan Film Industry will be represented by Filmmakers and Kenya Film Commission members who will flaunt the best of the Kenya Films.

During this Festival the Commission hopes to create a rapport that will celebrate difference in culture and celebrate Film in Africa as a whole.

The Festival hopes to position South Africa and the Wineland Film Festival as the primary destination for discussion and conferencing on international film making.Many of the films are simply unavailable elsewhere or are not distributed in South Africa.

The Festival will set a tradition of showcasing remarkable international cinema and will provide a familiar environment which dedicated film-fest-goers will find comforting. Our program of features, documentaries, shorts and animation promises to be the strongest slate ever.
